Bedtime Routine Reward Chart — Practical System for Ages 3–8
Ages 3–8Bedtime resistance is developmental — kids fear missing out and push limits as a form of autonomy-testing. A bedtime chart gives them agency within a structure: they choose how many stars they earn.

🔑 Keys to Making It Work
- Same time every night: Circadian rhythm trains within 2 weeks of consistency.
- Wind-down starts 30 min before: Dim lights, no screens, quiet play.
- Chart review at lights-out: Count stars together — makes it a positive ritual.
- Reward the week, not each night: 5 nights on time = choose Saturday breakfast.
