How to Use This Chart

  1. Print and optionally laminate the chart (makes it reusable).
  2. Hang it at your child's eye level — fridge, bedroom door, or bathroom mirror.
  3. Each time your child completes a task, add a sticker, checkmark, or star.
  4. At end of week, count stars together and celebrate with a small reward.
💡 Tip: Let your child decorate the chart with their name and favorite colors — ownership boosts follow-through.

Why Reward Charts Work for Ages 3–10

Children ages 3–10 are building executive function skills. Visual charts bridge the gap between intention and action — kids can see their progress, which activates the brain's reward system before they even receive a tangible prize.

Research in developmental psychology shows that external scaffolding (like charts) helps preschoolers and school-age children internalize routines over 4–6 weeks, after which the routine often becomes self-sustaining.
